Actor charged for not paying credit card bill
Consumers may do well to remember to always pay their credit card bill after an incident which saw an actor's card be rejected has resulted in him being fined after walking out of a clinic without paying for Botox treatment.

Last May, Robert Rabiah Gharios, who has appeared on television crime drama Underbelly, entered the Pamper Medical Skin Clinic in Newtown, Geelong having treatment worth a total of $1,265.

However, when it came time for the 35-year-old actor to pay, his American Express credit card had been declined. And although he left - claiming that he would return to pay the bill - he failed to do so, an act which subsequently saw him fined $3,000 and ordered to pay $1,446.70 in costs.

Furthermore, it was revealed that the actor had given the clinic a false name, date of birth and contact details as he was charged with giving the wrong name to the police and gaining property by deception.

Indeed, the actor's plight could serve as a reminder for Aussies to always ensure they can make credit card payments.

Meanwhile, a Sunday Morning Herald article points out that despite the hardship they may be facing as the economic crisis continues, people should not tempted to just make the minimal repayments on their credit cards otherwise they may be in debt for years to come.ADNFCR-2135-ID-19043012-ADNFCR
