Credit cardholders in New South Wales are being advised to be cautious after a couple posing as tourists have stolen a number of
credit cards.
Last Friday, a man and a woman approached a motorist at the BI-LO shopping centre in Tuncurry, climbing into her car to ask for directions to Armidale.
From here, they asked her a number of rapid questions and after leaving the driver discovered her credit card was missing, the Great Lakes Advocate reports.
And although she was able to cancel her credit card before it was used, the same scam was used - this time successfully - from Taree's CBD and at a Coles branch in the town.
It is thought that the couple has now left the region, however police are still warning people to be cautious.
Earlier this month, police in Melbourne appealed for help catching a man who had used a stolen credit card to make a number of purchases throughout the city over the past few weeks.
