The service has been created for those affected by Cyclone Yasi.

Westpac has set-up emergency centres in Tully and Cardwell to help those affected by Cyclone Yasi.

The temporary additions will involve staff members dealing with queries about credit cards and home loans, as well as showing those affected by the natural disaster how to perform basic bank account transactions.

Westpac Queensland state general manager for retail Andy Fell stated the financial organisation is keen to do all it can to help residents in the Queensland area badly affected by the cyclone.

He added: "We also want to give our customers peace of mind, which is why we are taking emergency relief banking services out to them."

What's more, Westpac has also ensured its disaster relief package - which it made available to victims of the recent floods in the state, where some of the worst flooding hit the city of Rockhampton - accessible to those affected by the recent natural disaster.
