An author has noted that anyone from bored teenagers to organised gangs can commit credit card fraud nowadays.
Many people in society choose to commit credit card fraud, one author has stated.
Chris Taylor, who has written a book to help consumers and businesses protect themselves from Aussie credit cons, noted that anyone from organised gangs to bored teenagers can pull off such scams, the Sunshine Coast Daily reports.
He added: "We're now in a global society and someone from Russia could use your information for anything, it's a fact of life today."
But Mr Taylor - whose work is called Crime of the Time - has recommended ways in which people can avoid falling into this trap, such as companies checking that the address of a delivery is the same as the cardholder's.
This advice comes after the Commonwealth Bank - which Mr Taylor worked for as a fraud and e-crime investigator - launched a new security code to help ensure the safety of online transactions involving credit cards.
