The new ANZ app will allow people to transfer money to a third party without knowing their bank account number.
ANZ has launched an Apple iPhone banking app shortly after its trial service to allow people to make credit card payments via a handset.
With its new app, consumers only need to know a mobile phone number of another person to be able to put money into their Australian
bank account, IT News reports.
The publication noted that it is the first product which allows customers to put cash into the account of a third party without knowing their account number.
The app - called goMoney - was launched on the iPhone store on August 27th after nearly a year of development.
But IT News warns that the service will no work on handsets which have been jailbroken.
This news comes after the Commonwealth Bank launched an iPhone app earlier this month that allows consumers to calculate an estimate of their home loan repayments on a particular property. This
debt help tool will help borrowers to manage their funds efficiently
