One businessman has been conned out of nearly $12,000 in two separate
credit card frauds in ten months.
The Woolgoolga worker suffered two online attacks and a Coffs Harbour farmer has also fallen victim after UK-based online gaming sites deducted $2,500 in US dollars from him, the Coffs Coast Advocate reports.
The former noted that his bank - National Australia Bank - informed him of the con and as a result of it the allowable limit on his
Aussie credit card decreased.
And the agriculture worker found he had lost money when he checked his
St George bank account.
His statement declared that thousands of pounds had been paid into online poker websites and he added: "I have always been very careful with my credit card."
Earlier this week, a student was found guilty of paying nearly $9,000 worth of private tuition payments on a stolen credit card, the Moorabbin Glen Eira Leader reported.
