A stolen credit card has been used to pay $9,000 in private tuition fees
A student has paid $9,000 in fees on a stolen
credit card.
He has since been placed on probation for six months after he was found guilty of paying the private tuition payments, the Moorabbin Glen Eira Leader reports.
The student is now in year 12 at school but was in year nine when he took the Citibank
Aussie credit card.
And the organisation - which offers a range of
Citibank credit cards - later recalled the product, prosecutor Simon Luebbers noted.
The owner of the device noticed the unauthorised transactions and alerted the officials.
Defence counsel Raoul Stransky said his client was unaware that he had broken the law and acknowledged it was wrong to make the transactions.
He added: "This particular offence was a charge pertaining to the use of this gentleman's credit card."
Earlier this month, there were reports of credit card skimming in the Forster area, the New South Wales noted.
