Credit cards make it 'much easier to shop online'

If you have a credit card then it is much easier to indulge in online shopping, according to one writer.

It is much easier to shop online with credit cards, one writer has noted.

In a piece for Life Hacker, Angus Kidman said existing without an Aussie credit card is not impossible, although having one can make it simpler to do certain things such as amassing frequent flyer and bonus points in various establishments.

But he warned that even individuals who are careful and pay off their debt on a regular basis are likely to end up forking out for an annual fee on their credit card.

Mr Kidman added: "There are no-fee cards on the market, but those often have some other form of trade-off."

And there should also be other factors to weigh up, including interest-free periods, reward schemes and extra benefits.

In addition, CommSec chief economist Craig James noted earlier this month that credit card debt is being accumulated at its slowest rate for 16 years, the Courier Mail reported.
