Nearly half of females surveyed were found to use a credit card and savings to fund a vacation.
A combination of
credit cards and money from savings accounts are what 40 per cent of women use to finance their holidays, according to one report.
More than 800 female travellers were interviewed for travel site Lastminute.com.au, which found the same number admitted to having a fling while away from home, News.com.au reports.
And 15 per cent end up marrying their holiday romance.
Mia Carter of the site said that there has been an increase in the amount of Australian women getting hitched with a guy they met on a vacation, which means more than just sightseeing has been going on.
She added: "One of our customers said she is getting married this July, six years to the day that she met her fiance overseas in Europe."
Six per cent said they just used a credit card to fund their trip but around half noted they delved into savings in order to pay for a break.
This news comes after a Westpac survey stated that 40 per cent of women think men waste money instead of putting it into a savings account.
