Social networking site Blippy has released a number of people's credit card details into the public domain.
A selection of
credit card numbers have been released into the public domain by social networking site Blippy, it has been revealed.
The web page on which people can talk about what they and others are purchasing accidentally made the details of credit cards and usernames of some of its visitors available.
Individuals were then able to use a search engine to access this information.
One news website Oz Car Guide suggested that Blippy customers searched for their username to make sure their
Aussie credit card details were not available in the public domain.
The networking page is described by the its owners as "a fun and easy way to see and discuss what everyone is buying".
Earlier this month, Vincent Weafer, vice-president of Symantec - which supplies software and services to protect against online risks noted that people were willingly handing over their credit card details to pay for fake security software, Reuters reported.
