Rewards credit card launched by bank and airline

A new rewards credit card initiative has been announced by St George Bank and Qantas.

St George Bank and Qantas have announced a new rewards credit card.

Amplify offers customers a choice of rewards programmes, including the Amplify Qantas or Amplify Rewards.

The former gives customers the opportunity to rack up Qantas Frequent Flyer points at a rate of one point for every $2 they spend.

People looking for credit cards may also be interested in the Amplify rewards, which give the user points which can then be exchanged for home appliances, movie tickets and technology among other items.

The bank's chief executive Greg Bartlett said the organisation – which offers a range of bank accounts – was delighted to join forces with the airline.

Simon Hickey, chief executive of Qantas Frequent Flyer, added: "We look forward to a strong, successful relationship with St George Bank."

Earlier this month, St George announced it was opening its telephone bank account service 24-hours-a-day and seven days a week.
