Contactless payment will be available at the Royal Easter Show to Commonwealth Bank credit card customers.
Commonwealth Bank
credit card customers will be able to use contactless payment at the Royal Easter Show this year.
There will be no pin needed to pay for goods worth $100 or less. People will simply have to touch their credit cards on one of the bank's merchant readers to make the transaction.
Ross McEwan, group executive in retail banking services at the organisation which offers
Commonwealth credit cards said the payment option is "ideal" to use at the Sydney-based event because there are tens of thousands expected to attend each day.
He added: "Cardholders simply hold the Tap N Go card up to a MasterCard PayPass terminal on the seller's counter, wait for a beep and the purchase is complete."
This news comes after consumer group Choice recently suggested Australian banks were not being treated as fairly as those in the UK after conducting research into
Aussie credit card rules compared with those in Britain.
