Aussie credit rating improves for Bendigo and Adelaide Bank

The Aussie credit rating of the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank has been upgraded.

People with a Bendigo and Adelaide Bank credit card could be pleased to note it had some good news after its Aussie credit rating was upgraded to positive.

The bank – which offers the Bendigo Basic Black credit cards among others – has become the first to gain a ratings outlook upgrade since the beginning of the global financial crisis.

Managing director Mike Hirst said the award was in honour of how hard its employees had worked.

He added: "Bendigo and Adelaide Bank prides itself on providing a genuine banking alternative – and does so with industry-leading customer satisfaction levels."

The bank was previously rated BBB+ with a negative outlook but it is now classed as BBB+ with a positive outlook.

Mr Hirst also praised the support of the customers and shareholders particularly since the two banks merged in 2007.

This news comes after NAB was nominated for a CHOICE award for the best low fee bank account for its Classic Banking account.
