A mother has highlighted some possible tips for saving money with kids going back to school.
A mother-of-four has offered some
tips for saving for parents sending kids back to school.
Naomi Bruvels, operations manager for budgeting website Simple Savings, believes an important element of reducing your daily spend is to avoid processed food at the supermarket.
Miss Bruvels told News Limited newspapers that she recommends making sandwiches for the week to make a "big cost saving".
Her comments were supported by Australian science and mathematics school principal Jim Davies who thinks there is a lot of money to be saved if kids can avoid spending at the school canteen.
Opening a savings account could be good way of saving and the principal recommends trading school uniforms with other parents or simply exchanging them at a second hand shop.
The principal says parents can "ease the burden" on their
bank account balance by paying schools in instalments.
Mr Davies also recommends using the library.
He said: "The books there are free. And if every book that's needed is just purchased, the kids never get into the library and never learn to use it and see the broad range of books available."
If people are looking for tips for saving then Money-AU state that drawing up a list of outgoings can help you decide what to cutback on.
