Contactless technology has allowed people to pay for lunch using their credit card much more quickly, it has been revealed
The use of contactless
credit cards in a chain of fast food outlets has proved to be of benefit to both Aussies and businesses, it has been reported.
Sumo Salad has been trialling technology where customers can pay for their foods by holding their credit or debit card up to a contactless payment reader without having to enter their pin number or sign their name.
With the cards issued by the National Australia Bank, users of the
Aussie credit technology are not charged an additional
card fee for using the service, the Australian reports.
"Our customers have been very positive about the technology. They've said it's easy to use and very convenient," states Sumo Salad managing director Luke Baylis.
He adds the use of the credit card technology has helped the restaurant company to reduce the build-up of queues and handle more transactions.
Meanwhile, a recent Inside Retailing article reported that ANZ Bank believe chip and pin is set to become an increasingly popular form of transaction for credit and debit card customers.
