Loved up couples are still prepared to spend thousands of dollars on getting married, it has been suggested.
Despite the ongoing financial crisis, Australians are still prepared to splash out significant amounts of money on getting married, new research shows.
Figures released by IBISWorld reveal that on average a total of $31,948 will be spent on the big day this year, a fall from the $33,349 recorded in 2008.
However, Robert Bryant, general manager at IBISWorld, suggests that this will recover to $33,010 next year, expenditure for which could be funded through
credit cards.
Although "weddings are still big business", Mr Bryant claims "more and more couples are delaying their big day until the financial time is right".
As such, those looking to wait until the best possible financial climate to get hitched may want to consider seeking out a competitive
saver account in order to generate as much cash as possible to splash out on the big day, something that could interest those searching for

Meanwhile, David Koch - presenter of Seven Network's Sunrise show - and his wife Libby recently pointed out in a News Limited article that both partners in a relationship need to take an equal responsibility with regards to managing money.
