Holidaymakers looking for a cost-effective way to pay for goods abroad may well want to consider taking out a pre-loaded credit card.
Making use of a pre-loaded
credit card can be an effective means to pay for goods while overseas, it has been suggested.
Indeed, such a product is deemed to be a "good option" for those holidaymakers who plan on using their plastic regularly while away, Jane E Fraser suggests in a Brisbane Times article.
The plastic product allows for a consumer's own money to be spent first, which after being used up begins to run up credit.
She claims that although she would never recommend that a holiday be funded entirely using credit, "combining pre-paid arrangements or a debit card with a credit card can further spread the cost".
Meanwhile, those looking for
tips for saving in order to effectively generate the money required to pay for a break were advised to set up an online savings account and to transfer cash into this on a regular basis.
Last month, an Age article pointed out that using credit and
bank account cards to make withdrawals from foreign ATMs can prove to be an expensive process.
