Credit card details and other pieces of personal information have been publically exposed in Albury, it has been revealed.
Discovered in a rubbish skip, such details were found in a binder containing details of more than 60 people who taken out mobile phone contracts with Strathfield.
Copies of driving licences and debit cards were also discovered in an alleyway close the retailer's former store on Hume Street, the Border Mail reports.
Kevin Poulton, of Howlong, was among those whose
bank account details were discovered in the skip.
"I'm shocked that someone could be so careless ... to publicly expose people's details. I would be worried about identity theft, which is becoming more of a concern," he states.
Strathfield Victorian operations manager Terry Maiolo suggested that the file could have been accidentally dropped as the firm moved to a new site on David Street earlier this month.
He believes that a member of the public must have picked up the documents and placed them in the skip.
Meanwhile, a number of businesses in Murwillumbah recently revealed to Tweed Daily News that they have lost thousands of dollars after falling victim to a gang of credit card criminals who used the fake products to steal thousands of dollars worth of goods.
