It is crucial that consumers maintain awareness about their
credit card usage.
One such area particular attention needs to be paid towards, Money-AU.com reveals, is ensuring that demands for repayment are met on time.
Although it claims that being late in making a credit card payment is better than skipping one out altogether, the publication is at pains to point out that doing so will not only see a borrower be fined but will also damage their credit report, meaning obtaining competitive credit at a later deal could be more difficult.
To avoid becoming a victim of this, consumers are advised to carefully check their monthly card statement for any errors as soon as it arrives.
"Borrowers who query charges well after they were made, because they failed to read the statement when it first arrived will have problems," Money-AU.com adds.
Earlier this month, the publication urged people to check the terms and conditions of a credit card agreement as such a document contains vital information such as balance transfer charges and special offers.
