Aussies have been given a range of tips on using
credit cards safely by one financial expert.
Speaking at the Cowell branch of the Probus Club, Christine Howard, of the Commonwealth Bank, took the time to discuss various aspects of debit and credit card security.
The representative of the bank - which offers the Commonwealth Low Fee Card and the
Commonwealth Awards credit card as a part of its range of borrowing products - urged people to ensure that they never lose sight of their card when making a transaction.
Ms Howard claims there are numerous ways in which an unscrupulous person will look to obtain someone else's card, the Eyre Peninsula Tribune reports.
Those interested in ensuring their plastic is kept secure were also warned against writing down their pin number.
Such warnings follow a report by Courier-Mail that a number of taxi drivers in Queensland are using skimming devices to steal money from their customers' credit cards.
