Although the financial crisis continues to bear down on them,
Aussie credit customers are still looking to give to charity.
In a Sunday Telegraph article it was revealed that a number of voluntary and charity groups across the country - from Seeing Eye Dogs Australia to the Salvation Army - have benefited from a sector-wide campaign to encourage people to continue donating money on a regular basis, whether this is through using their
credit card or a bank transfer.
Jeremy Bradshaw, editor of Fundraising & Philanthropy Australasia magazine, states: "Statistics show that even during times of recession and hardship, the level of giving amongst the general population remains relatively strong."
He claims that although people may be experiencing tough times in terms of money management, "donors feel they don't want charities to suffer".
However, credit card holders were recently advised by the government to be aware of a fraudulent website - entitled Victoria Bush Fire Fund - which looks to obtain people's details under the false pretence it will use the money to help victims of the disaster.
