Financial relief has been given to Westpac customers affected by storms and flooding in parts of Victoria and Melbourne.
Westpac customers affected by storms and flooding in Melbourne and parts of Victoria have been offered some financial relief.
The bank has allowed its
credit card customers to ask for an emergency
Aussie credit limit increase.
Assistance to the victims has also seen Westpac willing to waiver charges on people wishing to withdraw term deposits and some may be able to get a discounted
interest rate by applying to refinance their personal loan.
Businesses that have been affected by the natural disaster are able to request loan restructuring without having to pay any bank fees.
David Hyde, Westpac's state general manager for Victoria, said the bank's thoughts are with everyone who has been hit by the storms and the package aims to provide financial relief to them.
He added: "We understand how situations like this can affect our customers' financial circumstances and at this time they do not need the additional burden of worries over financial commitments."
The Commonwealth Bank recently announced it would consider requests for emergency Aussie credit limit increases after flooding in New South Wales.
