Banking & Saving - St George bank account service open 24/7

The St George Customer Contact Centre has extended its opening times.

People with a St George bank account can now give its Customer Contact Centre a ring anytime of the day.

The bank – which offers St George credit cards among other products – has announced the service is set to open seven days a week and 24-hours-a-day so customers can contact the organisation about their everyday banking needs.

Chief executive Greg Bartlett said the service had previously been recognised for its personal touch and he added: "We are excited to be able to expand our services so that customers will always be able to speak directly with our staff about their banking."

However, for more complicated issues, such as opening new bank accounts, people will have to call between 08:00 to 20:00 from Monday to Saturday.

The Commonwealth Bank recently announced it is set to help out its flood affected customers in Riverina, New South Wales, by reviewing credit card instalments.
